Look at the gallery pages to see a few of the best catches - amazingly some people don't carry a camera so we know there could be many more!

Orchid  Fishing exceptionally well. Bream and tench are showing in large numbers, carp are all over their spawing and are in greedy mode.

Cherry  The platforms are coming out of water now - very late this year - but the fishing is tremendous - usual carp and very good size roach.

Fringe Fishing it's head off in matches. The last few 5 hour matches are showing winning catches of over 80lb. Evening series 3 hour matches - you need over 90lb to frame!!!

In June 2008 one of the Tingrith Cat Fish was caught for the first time!

Gary Mcguire, a 39 year old electrician from Luton, caught the 46lb Wels Cat fish on his first visit to Tingrith Orchid Lake. He was fishing for carp on a Zebco Cool carp rod and Zebco Cool RC355 reel using 15lb main line, size 8 barbless hook and 15 red maggots on a maggot ring using aTFG pop-up hair rig!

Not only was this the first time Gary has fished  Orchid Lake, it was his second ever time at Tingrith and his first ever cat fish. Having played the fish for about 25 minutes he was wondering what it was as the swirl seemed to be along way from the hook! Gary has fished most of his life, having had a break form it to play football, his is now well and truely hooked on fishing again in a big way.

July's Big Fish

Andy Beaney caught this fantastic specimen of a common carp on Orchid Lake - 22lb 4oz. We're not sure why he's looking so angry though!

August's Big Fish

Sean Mobbs of Letchworth caught this 26lb 2oz common carp from the beach swim on Orchid Lake on 5th Aug using dog biscuit and bubble float.
