The Fishery

The lakes at Tingrith celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2005. During those years the lakes and their surrounds have flourished; maturing into a unique bio-centre for aquatic life, animals, birds and all manner of flora and fauna.

Each lake has its own sand and gravel bars; natural harbours for the lakes freshwater fish who treat them like coral reefs found in the sea, meandering, feeding and patrolling the varying depths, searching for food.

The vegetation around the lakes is carefully managed. Yellow Iris, Norfolk Rush, Bull Rushes and Marsh grass are all encouraged to provide natural holding spots, food sources and shelter for the fish.

Maple, Elm, Willow and Weeping Willows provide sun shade and cover for anglers, wildlife and fish alike.

The History

Established in 1995, Tingrith was the vision of its founder, Terry Freeman. Terry with his co-founder Ian Freeman wanted to create an environment that offered the angler a genuine sense of freedom and space - superb fishing, set in beautiful scenery, while maintaining high standards.

Sadly Terry died after only a few months but under the excellent management and direction of Ian, Tingrith has continued to grow and build on Terry's philosophy. The fishery, now run by Ann Freeman and her team, offers excellent facilities and quality training in a relaxed, friendly, family environment.

We are now well established in the Bedfordshire area. Our members come from all over the surrounding villages like Flitwick, Stepplingley, Harlington and Toddington. Club bookings are welcome -some of our regulars over many years are Luton Angling, Boxmoor, Red Lion, Kings Langley Angling Club and many more. Corporate booking regulars are Buttles, Ted Baker, Konica Minorca, KNP Engineering and so on!!!
