JANUARY 2007 Grass Carp to nearly 20lb stocked into Orchid Lake.

These lovely English fish have never been caught and represent the latest challenge on Orchid. Watch this space for more stocking news!

The Second 24 Hour Fun Match 2006- Orchid Lake

Sat 30th Sept to Sun 1st Oct 2006
This was again won by Thomas Potter with a sterling 66lb of carp and roach closely followed by Ricky Stone with 65lb. The weather was absolutely awful - all of them wet through to the skin but I am told that a good time was had by all!

Terry Freeman Memorial Match

Wed 20th Sept 2006
This 65 peg match was won by a local man who was fortunate to step in at the last minute to take the place of a regular who was unable to fish having had a machine fall on, and brake, his hand on the Monday!

Tony Taylor of Luton, Bedfordshire sponsored by G.O.T. Baits and Red Lion won from Fringe Lake with 94lb 7oz of carp from the margins using a Margin pole his long pole having been broken ealier by a large Carp! He picked up pools of £300, a silver salver trophy and payout from Billy Knott Bookies!

Dave Vincent (Browning) of Stratford London was second overall, also from Fringe, with a bag of carp weighing in at 89lb 12oz. Heaviest being 12lb average 5-6lb. These were caught on pellet up in the water about 6-12 inches deep, 12 metres out. He was unable to fish any further out due to the southerly wind in the face.

Third was Jimmy Wilson, Browning, who fished Cherry Lake and had a haul of carp 48lb 15oz on feeder using dead maggot.

Forth: Tony Marti, Browning, London, 48lb 2oz

Fifth: Chris Vanderveilt, Essex 47lb 4oz

Blind Seeded Pairs was won by Tony Taylor and Joe Barlow with a combined weight of 97 lb+!

24 Hour Fun Match - Orchid Lake

Sat/Sun 8th to 9th July
A fantastic time was had by all! Having fished on Saturday from 9.00am to 5.00pm they were all very glad of the superb supper laid on by Katy, which gave them an opportunity for an hour off! They all continued until 9.00am Sunday morning - all looking very worse for wear when they had their complimmentary Mighty Matchmens breakfasts at 10.00am. The winner is one of our youngest very able up and coming anglers, Thomas Potter, watch this space you will be hearing more from him - no doubt.

This day, exclusively arranged by Tingrith Fishery with the UK's top Angler/Coach, turned into a brilliant day. All participants were thrilled with their catches and learnt so much! Browning Tingrith Evening Series 2006

this series held its final match on 25th July 2006. A full house nearly every week of the 7 week qualifiers. The points series was won by Karl Ruditus of Sportsmans Lodge, Bedford with 9 points on a very close run thing. The top three being decided on the final match! He picked up a Browning Landing net & Handle Combo and Series Pools worth £250 plus the winnings on the way!

The Final, for which 20 men qualified, was won by Dennis Page who picked up a Browning Dedicated Carp 13m Pole with extentions and top kits worth £1900 plus pools of £300. The Golden Peg, which has been accumulating for some years has still not been won and will be up for grabs again next year, Watch this Space!.

Browning Team Challenge

What a great day - at the time it was the hottest day of the year! Drinks were taken by the staff to the pegs to ensure no one collapsed! It was won by the Browning Warehouse/staff team who had 3 section winners and ended up with 20 points, 8 clear points from the runners up who were Hotrods with 28 points. Crowsports also had 28 points but were pipped at the post on weight! Mick Vincent (Browning Warehouse/staff Team) was the overall individual winner with 116lb 14oz from Cherry Lake, second was Eddie Green (Browning Passies) with 63lb 4oz also from Cherry followed by May Potter (Browning Warehouse/staff Team)who had a fabulous haul of 61 lb 5oz from Fringe Lake and 4th was Luke Gilbert (Browning Passies) with 53lb from Orchid Lake. The day culminated with a buffet and presentation Match Reports for full results.

Browning Youth Masters 2006

Our qualifier on Thursday 20th April saw Kiran Chavda win with 75lb 2oz of fish from Fringe go to Match Reports for full results.

Environment Agency 'Fishing is Fun' Day - 7th August 2007

Browning Tingrith and the EA are holding another Fun Day! If you've never fished, are a bit rusty or just curious to give it a go, come down and get some expert tuition and advice on Tuesday 7th August. Open to all ages, families are especially welcome. Come for free to one of the sessions or stay all day, and get a free lunch, for just £6 per person. The EA and Browning Tingrith will provide qualified angling coaches, all the equipment you need including bait! Please book in advance as places are limited.

Two sessions will take place on Tuesday 7th August:
* Morning: 10.00am – 12.00am
* Afternoon: 1.00pm – 3.00pm

Hot and cold food and drinks are available at the on-site Hungry Perch café. Toilet facilities and free, safe parking are also all on-site. The sessions are open to a limited number of people on a first come first serve basis so please call 01525 714012 to book your session spot! If you have any special accessibility requirements please call us beforehand.
